Groveport Special Olympics started in December of 2014 with coordinator Penny Hilty and co-coordinator Cassandra Hilty. You do not have to be a Groveport resident to be able to participate. During the year we gather during our off time with sports. That includes a summer picnic where all athletes gather for some great food and social time. In December, we gather to see Santa Claus and to celebrate the end of the year and also to have food. Polar Plunge is a great way to raise money and freeze for a great cause for our organization. Cash Drop is once during the year and one person from every family is required to have one family member to help raise money for Groveport to be able to compete and be able to rent out space for us to practice in. We do four fundrasiers during the year which are Polar Plunge, cash drop, honeybaked ham, and Kroger card.
